Day 1 - Hluboká - Rendezvous in "Golden" Prague, the Czech Republic's capital and home to one of Eastern Europe's richest collections of Gothic, baroque, and Renaissance architecture.Private transfer to Plastovice, one of south Bohemia's most beautiful rural villages for the start of your Czech odyssey.Walk through a pastoral setting to the quiet Bohemian village of Hluboka.Tour the 13th-century Hluboka royal castle and its richly decorated halls with chandeliers and tapestries.

Days 2 - Cesky Budejovice - Walk quiet lanes and riverside pathways to Ceske Budejovice.Meander through the old town with one of the largest Medieval town squares in Europe.Tour the "Budvar" Budweiser brewery and indulge in a cool tasting. Travel to Cesky Krumlov, Bohemia's best preserved town rich in Baroque architecture.Discover this World Heritage Site's cobble stone passageways and riverside walks.Celebrate the Bohemian lifestyle at a outdoor restaurant where local fare and cool refreshments are met with the sounds of gypsy musicians.

Day 3 - Cesky Krumlov - Join a guided walk of the town's Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque masterpieces.Tour Cesky Krumlov's majestic early Gothic castle with its Baroque theater.Walk into the surrounding hills for panoramic views of the Vltata River Valley and its rural landscapes.Dinner on your own this evening to discover your own romantic corner of this south Bohemian town.

Day 4 - Durnstein - From the market town of Zwettl, ride gentle rolling emerald hills into the Danube Valley and the expansive Wachau wineyards.Tour the inspiring abbey at Gottwieg, a World Heritage Site.Arrive in Durnstein, a small romantic village located within the ruins of an ancient fortified feudal town known for its imprisonment of Richard the Lionheart.

Day 4 - The Danube River - Ride paved pathways and quiet laneways along the banks of the Danube River.Visit the Melk Stift, a spectacular Baroque abbey perched on a ridge overlooking the Danube.Stop for a wine tasting of Wachau's prized vintages at the riverside town of Weissenkirchen.Celebrate your Czech Austrian bike walk adventure at a final dinner of regional specialties.

Day 6 - Vienna - Homeward bound.Bid a final farewell to the peaceful banks of the Danube River and take a private transfer to Vienna for convenient connections to the rest of Europe, or extend your stay in the City of music, cafes, waltzes, parks, pastries, and wine.As always, we would be more than pleased to help you with any of your post-trip travel planning.

CLASSIC INNS SELECTION

Cesky Krumlov - (2 nights) - located in the Medieval central square of Cesky Krumlov, this Baroque town house is filled with wood paneling, stone accents, antique furnishings and old world charm.

Zwettl (pictured) - (1 night) - set in one of Austria's most romantic settings, this romantic castle retreat with beautiful terraces has a vaulted dining room for feasting on Austria's regional specialties.

Weissenkirchen - (2 nights) - a beautiful family operated guest house located in a lively village along the Danube with river side views and traditional Austrian hospitality.

TRIP START AND FINISH INFORMATION

Trip Start - Prague (Praha), Czech Republic
As a convenience to our guests, we will meet you at your hotel in Prague at 10:00 am. or by special arrangement, the main train station or airport.

Prague is served by rail service from all major European cities plus inter-European flights to Prague - Ruzyne Airport. We would recommend spending your pre-trip evening in Prague. Our reservations office can make all your pre- & post-trip hotel, flight and train travel arrangements.

Trip Finish - Vienna (Wien), Austria
On the final trip day, we would be pleased to drop you off at the Vienna train station for Austrian Rail train service to all European destinations. Also available are transfers to your post-trip Vienna hotel or the Vienna International Airport for connector flights to major airports.

Usual arrival into Vienna is around 10:30 am with earlier arrivals by request.
